Terms of Service

1. The service

• SynkAnime ("the service", "we") is an anime discovery and watch-progress platform with community features such as comments, libraries, history, and an AI assistant.
• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

2. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address you own; accounts are verified by one-time code.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password private.
• One person, one account. Do not sell, trade, or share accounts.
• We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the comment rules.

3. Acceptable use

• No scraping, crawling, or bulk-downloading the site or its APIs beyond normal browsing.
• No attempting to bypass security, rate limits, quotas, or access controls (including the AI assistant's daily limits).
• No automated account creation, vote manipulation, spam, or abuse of community features.
• No uploading or linking to malware, phishing, or illegal content.
• Comments and usernames must follow the comment rules.

4. Content & copyright

• You keep ownership of anything you post, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the service.
• Do not post content you have no right to share. Copyright concerns are handled per our DMCA policy.
• Anime metadata, artwork, and episode imagery belong to their respective owners and are shown for discovery purposes.

5. The AI assistant

• Synk AI answers questions about anime and this site's catalog. It can be wrong — verify important details.
• Free daily chats are provided on a shared model with per-visitor limits. You may optionally use your own third-party API key; your key and its usage are then governed by that provider's terms.
• Do not use the assistant to extract site internals, attack the service, or generate abusive content.

6. Privacy in brief

• We store the data needed to run your account (email, username, watch history, library) and keep server-side, salted-hash visit statistics. We do not sell personal data.
• Sign-in notification emails include device, IP, and location details so you can spot unauthorized access.

7. Liability & changes

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for content provided by third parties.
• We may update these terms at any time; the "last updated" date below shows the current revision. Continued use means acceptance.
